I strongly believe in our line of work as we have an immense ability to enrich lives and in many ways develop one’s character, resilience and attitudes to different facets of life . Along the way, I have been groomed to become a much more confident individual who has the ability to take charge of situations and offer financial guidance to my clients. This is what drew me to take on a career in financial planning. To anyone who considers financial planning as a career, it is indeed a rewarding career to be in with hardwork and passion.

Dear Lydia,

The past one-year has been an enriching experience for me. I must add that working with you has been the most important and fulfilling experiences of my life. From the very start when I joined Lydia Choo & Associates, I was very much impressed with the professionalism , warm and caring ambience that greeted me when I met you in your Office. That left me a very profound lasting impression. I knew then that I wanted to be part of this dynamic industry and working environment.

The journey of becoming a Financial Consultant is something that I truly enjoyed. What I enjoyed most was the training sessions I had with you that helped me hone my positive attributes as well as accentuate my niche areas at the same time overcoming my difficult areas. This profession has immense scope of developing one’s character, resilience and attitudes to different facets of life. I realized along the way, I have been groomed to become a much more confident individual who has the ability to take charge of situations when I need to and offer financial guidance to my clients. My closed ones have also remarked on how professional I have become in my mannerisms as well as with my conversations with people in general.

As a Financial Consultant one is exposed to different clients day in and out and working with so many different people has made me more aware and sensitive to people’s needs and wants. I believe it is a great skill to be able to identify people’s needs as only then are you in the position to help them.

To anyone who considers financial planning as a career, I would say this is indeed a rewarding career to be in with hardwork and passion to help me. I believe if your job allows you to help people then you essentially have the best job in the world. As a Financial Consultant you meet people, are exposed to their personal information and you help people achieve financial freedom through thorough analysis of their financial standing and identifying their needs and wants. I strongly believe in financial freedom. In today’s volatile market, having someone professional whom you can talk to about financial instruments is a valuable asset.

Furthermore, the flexible working hours of this career has enabled me to pursue my university studies and financially planning career concurrently. It is not easy juggling both however the resilience and discipline that is required of this job helps me to better achieve in university as well. Over time I have also become more open to different ways of thinking as we are exposed to different personalities from all walks of life and there isn’t a day whereby you wake up in the morning and believe you have to go through a routine. I truly enjoy the networking experience of this career. In today’s world, networking is a key factor to success .

I encountered some difficulties along the ways for instance, rejections are commonplace in our career. However, I have been taught to welcome rejections as they present me an opportunity to tackle the doubts or queries of our clients, to put their mind at ease and also it provides the next stepping stone in helping our clients affirm their decision.

There is no perfect job in this world and all come with their own challenges. As I mentioned earlier, the flexible work hours are a plus point but with a lack of dscipline, one would realize that zero or minimal work effort translates to poor results. This is especially apparent in this career whereby you are directly rewarded based on your efforts.

In a nutshell, this career has worked for me from the very day I made the decision to be part of it. I believe in the value of my work and service to the people I meet and help. This belief has rewarded me in ways that I will always remember. I want to thank you Lydia for nurturing me to become the person I am today and for taking me in and believing that I could make a difference. I look forward to developing myself continually and adding greater value to my work. Thank you.
